Can’t forget our skiff guys! The world of skiffs has certainly seen it’s fair share of new players, but Chittum is certainly no new kid on the block. As one of the original founders of Hell’s Bay Boatworks, Hal Chittum has reentered the skiff world hard these past couple years and the skiffs have gained huge popularity. Innovation through use of cutting edge materials, the crew at Chittum has drastically cut hull weights to the point that most can be lifted by you and your buddy after a fun day at the sandbar. The Islamorada 18 is the foundation for their lineup, but is offered in a multitude of different configurations including 2 or 12 degrees dead rise options, and a handful of different laminate combinations. They even offer a full carbon fiber option which brings the hull weight down to a whopping 350 pounds! Hitting the guide market, they’ve recently introduced the Guide Edition as well which promotes a more simple layup, and overall simplicity to the boat, focused on using it as a tool to achieve incredible fishing results on the flats. This coming year they will also be officially introducing an Islamorada 21 which we’re told poles just like the 18, so naturally we can’t wait to check it out!
