Freeman changed the game by introducing high performance Cats to the center console world... Can they do it again with the 42LR?

The center console industry, as it stands, is extremely lucrative. We never know what the next best and biggest boat is going be. So, the question us consumers are constantly asking is - what's next? With rumors of Yellowfin possibly building a 53' center console and Scout doing the same, will SeaVee follow suit?

Before I answer some of these questions, let's discuss what I love and don't love about the Freeman 42 LR...

The Cat Ride: If you have rode on a Cat, especially in rough seas, you probably know it's a ride you have to get used to. I vividly remember grouper fishing in Tampa Bay on my first Cat in 2-3 foot, feeling the sponson leave the water as a roller hit us from the side. Cats don't feel as stable as you would imagine! After sea-trialing a Freeman, you can still tell you're on a Cat boat, however, it gives you the peace of mind knowing you're less likely to capsize.

I love the optional livewell/fishbox features on this boat. One thing I have learned is that there is never enough storage! Being able to use a hatch for multiple uses is huge benefit. As we have heard through customer experience, the best features of the boat is the helm. It looks and feels like that of a jet airplane.

    So many questions......

    Who will be next?

What Cat brand is going to make the jump first?
