We like to think of the Solace 345 as the boat that would have been seen in Back to the Future, and I know we would have all chosen it over the DeLorean. During the design process of this incredibly innovative boat, the team at Solace went above and beyond to push the limits, and surpass them. No space was wasted on the boat, and any “dead space” other boats typically have, was repurposed into extremely usable and functional spaces we’d never thought of before now.

Technology was certainly on the forefront of this build and many of the features are certainly one of a kind. Most manual processes have become automated, like the front console lounge extension, the rear tackle station table, swim door, and t-top sunroof. One of the most noticeable and appealing features of the boat is the redesign of the transom and cockpit area. The motors have both been pushed outboard, much like that of a cat style boat, and the cockpit was extended to create a pocket between the motors for an angler to stand in. As we all know, this is a huge advantage when bringing fish close to the rear of the boat, to avoid them tangling in the engines or getting cut by a prop.

Certainly some things to note, the 345 comes standard with a Seakeeper 2DC, providing you with the stability we've all grown to love. If you love music, boat jams are courtesy of a full JL Audio system, sub included. Some storage features that were very well thought out include a bow locker for fenders (4x26") and a stern locker for 5 gallon buckets. For seating, Solace turned it up a notch and added a full set of Shockwave S5 suspension bases for the ultimate in ride comfort, and just behind the seats is a multipurpose workstation stocked with a grill, sink, freshwater shower, and even a refrigerator. From fishing to comfort, the boat offers just about every feature you could imagine, and then some.

At the Miami Boat Show this week, the Solace 345 took home the Boating Magazine’s Boat Of The Year award and the MIBS Innovation Award. As their backlog grows, they also let us know they will soon be coming out with a new 41’ model as well, and maybe even something else up their sleeve. Solace definitely has sparked a revolution in the boating world, pushing the focus of technology and innovation to a new level, and we can’t wait to see what will come next!
