  • Did you know that all of our graphic designs for Sportfish Outfitters apparel have been created in house? Part of our love for Sportfish boats comes from a passion for the aesthetic of the lines and shapes that create these amazing boats from every builder in the industry. Every line is chosen with intention and we feel the same about our own branded apparel designs.

One of the best parts about selling our own gear is the enjoyment of creating it. For example, our popular “boats only” design started with just the sportfish boat that was hand drawn by me in 2006. It was digitized and used for a few logo ideas and then the center console was added a few years later when SMS began in 2009. It stuck around to still be the main brand logo today for Sportfish Outfitters. It signifies the importance for us of our business model. We don’t sell tackle, we focus on the “boats only.”

The boats were then incorporated into the globe logo with our intention to have a worldwide presence in the Sportfishing industry and to supply boats traveling everywhere. The lighthouse graphic was created to show appreciation for the icon of our hometown headquarters in Jupiter, Florida. Our popular sunset graphic with the black boat shadow eventually was adjusted to have the Bahamas colors to raise money for hurricane Dorian.

I felt that the iconic helm, seen on so many sportfish boats, deserved a place in our collection and the helm design came about. It’s a constant reminder that to work your way up to the bridge and become a sportfish captain takes a lot of effort and putting your time. It’s the ultimate goal and accomplishment for a captain to make their way up to one of those beautiful steering wheels.

Recently I created the vintage running shot design from a photo of the Spencer "Blue Sky" that was taken by Cameron Rhodes. I had been wanting to create a weathered style animated type running shot design with a hand drawn look that wasn't the same old boat shirt and this photo of the boat going away was a perfect platform for me to start with to bring this design to life.

We appreciate everyone purchasing and wearing our apparel out there! We are a marine supply business at our core and that will always remain our focus but selling our own designs and apparel is a fun part of the business as well.  Your continued support  means a lot to us and I look forward to more designs in the future.

    Thanks again,
