Brush selection is a lot about personal preference. A stiff deck brush will enable you to get the tough spots out of the non-skid but that's about the only place you'll want to use it because they will damage a shiny finish. typically a medium brush is enough to get the deck and fish boxes clean. An extra soft brush allows you to hit the large surface spaces of gel coat or paint, without scratching. Follow that process up with a soft hand brush for those hard to reach places!
