Sportfish Outfitters X White’s Tackle

Sportfish Outfitters and White’s Tackle have teamed up to create the ultimate boating and fishing tackle shopping experience in Jupiter, Florida. Nowhere else in the country is there a specialized sportfish and center console shop quite like this.

As the founder of Sportfish Outfitters I have watched the marine industry and sportfish and center console boating world change and evolve for the past 20 years from the perspective of a builder, captain, and business owner. The worlds of E-commerce and brick and mortar retail are constantly changing and we are steadily evolving to create and better customer experience and grow the business at the same time.

I remember the feeling of going into surf shops, tackle shops, skate shops and any other specialty shop as a kid. The smell or the feel or whatever it is that creates that special shop vibe is what I have always aimed to achieve. There is nothing like walking into a local shop and asking about products or the gear you need to get you out there on your next adventure.

We operate with a small business feel but on a larger scale with the help of our specially curated distributor network. We have a brick and mortar store in Jupiter that stocks the core of our most commonly sold products but we are able to offer over 50,000 products to our customers and ship products fairly quickly usually within 24-48 hours.

Our focus at Sportfish Outfitters has been providing everything on the boat other than tackle… Now we have a first class offshore, inshore, and fly  fishing tackle shop in the same building to add to that offering.

Sportfish Outfitters has been in our Jupiter location for over 3 years. The opportunity presented itself to purchase the building we are in that had an existing fishing tackle shop. I saw an opportunity to again expand our services to the Sportfishing world. I wanted to team up with someone but I didn’t want to expand Sportfish Outfitters into the Tackle realm. I put a call in to Geoff at White’s Tackle and paid him a visit to discuss the opportunity. I knew their reputation for having all of the highest quality tackle and knowledge to go with it.

I met up with Scott the owner of all the White’s Tackle locations (Fort Pierce, Stuart, and Vero) and we agreed to set up a partnership to open a new location - White’s Tackle Jupiter. Turns out we are the same age and have a lot in common with our business approach and goals which should lead to a win-win for both of our businesses and our shared customer base.
